Wow its the end of  week one already. It has been a really nice first week. First week of Sophomore year feels nice except like every other first week it is stressful and with  most of our classes being online its a new experience. It has been hectic trying to get back into "school mode" since I have scrambled my sleep scheduled throughout the summer. But nevertheless it has been a really nice first week. I got to work the welcome desk on Tuesday and met some other ambassadors. Working the welcome desk was a nice experience getting to give directions to guests and students.I did not get to answer and transfer some calls but I look for to that next week. It was also nice to see familiar faces on campus since it is so quiet on campus. I studied in the library on Tuesday and it was dead silent in there. But it is nice to see that some of these resources are still open.

As an ambassador I got to work one of  the welcome week events held virtually. I got to welcome some very excited and energetic African American students and it was really and honor. The students were really excited and looking forward for more events later in the semester. I gave some advice and Ideas for future events that might be held. I also got to lead a game called 'guess the tunes' where I played the first few beats to a song and they had to figure out what song it is and a lady called Tracy took the win!. The event went so well. I also met the Assist Dean of Academic Success, Sarah to talk about my peer mentorship. I was fortunate to get paired with her for the mentorship program. I will be mentoring  about 18 students throughout the semester and it sounds so excited. I am just. hoping to be on top of my game because I am already overwhelmed with the first week assignments but I will be working ahead soon and in no time I will be soaring.

All in all I have completed my first week as an ambassador and a Sophomore and it was a nice experience I can't wait to see what the rest of the semester has for me.
